Fleeting Midwest (9) A common theme I find myself addressing, the midwest is turning into suberbia before my eyes. As I look and see the once romantic midwest being turned into cookie cutter suberbia, I can't help but feel a loss for the once wild and unique midwest I grew up within.
Man Vs. Nature (15) Experimental distressing of various types of color negatives. Then sandwiched and placed together. No color adjustments or merging done in Photoshop.
Shackled (26) As women in today’s society, there are two opposing messages being conveyed to us on a daily basis. A woman is still supposed to hold true to the idealistic values of the 1950’s while trying to fashion out a niche of her own in today’s age of independence. We are expected to be able to juggle both without breaking a sweat, all while wearing a cute pair of stilettos like the models do in the magazines. More than ever, we are giving women opportunities outside the house. Many still feel stuck, however, often transforming the romantic values of the 50s into chains that women feel they must carry. Women are now expected to walk a fine line between romantic values and embracing their sexuality and independence.
